Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass
Place a coupe or rocks glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure the drink is served well chilled.
- 2
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker add 2 oz Bumbu Rum, 0.75 oz Herring Cherry (cherry liqueur), 2 oz chilled cranberry juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 3 dashes of cherry bitters.
- 3
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker exterior becomes frosty and the mixture is well chilled.
- 4
- 5
Strain and serve
Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or over fresh ice in a rocks glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer to catch any small ice shards or pulp.
- 6
Garnish
Skewer a maraschino or fresh cherry and rest it on the rim, then float or place a lime wheel on the rim. Optionally express a lime peel over the surface for aromatic oils.

Final notes
Taste and adjust: if you prefer a sweeter drink, add another 0.25 oz simple syrup; for more tartness, add 0.25 oz additional lime juice. Serve immediately.
