Cubano Sandwich Ingredients

Method

Instructions

1

Prepare the Bread

Slice the Cuban bread lengthwise but do not cut all the way through, leaving a hinge.

2

Layer the Ingredients

Spread yellow mustard on both sides of the bread. Layer the roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and pickle slices inside the bread.

3

Butter the Outside

Spread butter on the outside of the sandwich to ensure a golden, crispy crust.

4

Grill the Sandwich

Heat a skillet or a sandwich press over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet, and press down with a heavy pan or the sandwich press. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

5

Serve

Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve hot.
