Base (liquid & dairy)

Method

Prepare ingredients

  1. 1

Peel and slice the banana into 1/2-inch pieces so it blends evenly. If you didn't use frozen berries, add a handful of ice (included in ingredient list). Measure out yogurt, milk and any optional add-ins you plan to use.

  2. 2

If using rolled oats and you prefer a smoother texture, pulse the oats in the blender first by themselves for 5–8 seconds to powder them before adding other ingredients.

Blend

  1. 3

    Layer into blender

Into a high-speed blender pitcher add in this order: milk, Greek yogurt, banana slices, frozen mixed berries, honey, vanilla extract, and any optional add-ins (ground flaxseed, nut butter, protein powder). Tuck the ice cubes around the fruit if using extra for chill/texture.

  2. 4

    Start blending

Secure the lid and blend on low for 10–15 seconds to combine, then increase to medium-high and blend another 20–40 seconds until smooth and silky. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula if large pieces remain, then pulse 3–4 times and blend again until uniform.

  3. 5

Check consistency: if too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons of milk at a time and blend again to reach desired pourable thickness. If too thin, add a few more ice cubes or 1/4 cup frozen berries and blend briefly.

Serve

  1. 6

Pour the blend into a 16-ounce glass. Taste and adjust sweetness with a little more honey if needed.

  2. 7

Garnish with a mint leaf and a berry or banana slice on the rim if desired. Serve immediately while cold and frothy.
