Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice and cold water while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Rinse the chilled glass with absinthe: pour a small amount of absinthe into the glass, swirl to coat the interior, then discard the excess (or simply leave a very light coating). Alternatively use 2 small drops of absinthe on the surface of the finished drink if you prefer.

Mix Cocktail

3

Add gin (1 oz), Cointreau (1 oz), Lillet Blanc (1 oz) and freshly squeezed lemon juice (1 oz) to a cocktail shaker.

4

Fill the shaker with large ice cubes to chill and dilute the mixture properly.

5

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and slightly frosted. This both chills and properly dilutes the drink.

6

If you prefer an exceptionally clean pour, double-strain through a fine strainer into the prepared absinthe-rinsed chilled glass. Otherwise, strain directly into the glass.

Garnish & Serve

7

Express a lemon twist over the surface of the cocktail by holding the twist skin-side down and giving it a quick twist to release oils, then rub the rim of the glass with the twist and drop it into the drink or lay it on the rim as garnish.

8

Serve immediately. Sip slowly — the Corpse Reviver No. 2 is bright, balanced and best enjoyed freshly made.
