Fry Bread
Method
Preparation
Make the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water and mix until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
Rest the Dough
Cover the dough with a clean towel or plastic wrap and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
Shape the Bread
After resting, divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten it into a disk about 1/2 inch thick.
Fry the Bread
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place a few disks of dough into the oil, frying until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
