Cocktail

1

Prepare glass

Take a rocks or double old-fashioned glass and add the 1 tsp of sea or smoked salt to a small shallow dish. Moisten the rim of the glass with a grapefruit wedge and gently dip the rim into the salt to coat. Fill the glass with 1/2 cup of fresh ice and set aside.

2

Combine & chill

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz blanco tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz fresh grapefruit juice, 0.5 oz fresh pineapple juice, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, and 0.5 oz agave syrup. Add 1 cup of ice (enough to fill the shaker) and seal the shaker.

3

Shake

Vigorously shake the mixture for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosty on the outside. This dilutes and integrates the citrus, tequila and sweetener.

4

Strain & serve

Double-strain the cocktail (using a Hawthorne strainer and/or fine mesh strainer) over the prepared glass filled with fresh ice. This removes small ice shards and pulp for a cleaner drink.

5

Garnish

Express oils from an additional grapefruit wedge over the drink by giving it a gentle squeeze and running the peel around the rim (if desired). Drop the wedge onto the rim or into the glass and add a pineapple leaf or mint sprig for visual appeal.

6

Enjoy

Serve immediately. Sip and enjoy the balanced interplay of bright citrus, tropical pineapple, and clean tequila with a hint of salt on the rim.
