Cocktail

Method

Prep

1

Chill glass and prepare rim

Place a cocktail or rocks glass in the freezer for a few minutes to chill. On a small plate spread the salt in an even layer. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the chilled glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into the salt so it adheres. Set the glass aside.

Mixing

2

In a cocktail shaker add the blanco tequila (2 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), agave syrup (0.5 oz), and orange liqueur (0.5 oz). Fill the shaker with ice (about 6 medium cubes).

3

Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and the mixture is well-chilled and slightly diluted.

4

Double-strain (optional) into the prepared chilled, salted-rim glass over fresh ice (if you prefer it on the rocks), or fine-strain into the chilled glass without ice for a straight-up margarita.

5

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
