Breads

Method

Breads

1

Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes. Add salt, olive oil, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms.

2

Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

3

First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

4

Shape the Bread

Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.

5

Second Rise

Cover the loaf with the cloth and let it rise again until doubled, about 30 minutes.

6

Bake the Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes until golden and sounds hollow when tapped.

Seasonal Jam

7

Cook the Fruit

In a pot, combine fresh fruit, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the fruit breaks down and the mixture thickens, about 20-30 minutes.

8

Cool and Store

Allow the jam to cool before transferring it to sterilized jars. Store in the refrigerator.

Cheese Spread

9

Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, blend cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, and chopped chives until smooth and well combined.

10

Chill

Refrigerate the cheese spread for at least 30 minutes before serving.
