Mixing the Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine the Bulleit Rye Whiskey, house-made BBQ bitters, and simple syrup. Add ice cubes and stir well until chilled.
Straining and Serving
Strain the mixture into an old-fashioned glass over a large ice cube.
Garnishing
Garnish with a piece of orange peel and a maraschino cherry. Optionally, express the oils from the orange peel over the drink.
