Preparation
- 1
Chill the Glass
Begin by chilling a cocktail glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water while you prepare the drink.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, add 2 oz of rye whiskey, 1 oz of Sicilian blood orange amaro, 0.5 oz of bing cherry syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
- 3
Add Ice
Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes, approximately 1 cup should suffice to ensure the drink is properly chilled.
- 4
Stir
Stir the mixture gently for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.
- 5
Strain
Remove the ice water from the chilled cocktail glass and strain the mixture from the mixing glass into the prepared glass.
Garnishing
- 6
Add Garnish
Garnish the drink with a single bing cherry and a strip of blood orange peel. Twist the peel over the drink to release its oils before placing it in the glass.
