Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Gently mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into two equal portions (about 8 oz each) and form into burger patties, making a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a generous amount of Boursin cheese on each patty to melt.

Caramelizing the Onions

  1. 3

    Slice the Onions

Peel and slice the onion into thin rings.

  2. 4

    Cook the Onions

In a separate skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes until they are soft and caramelized. Season with a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties and onions are cooking, you can toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a cooked burger patty topped with melted Boursin cheese. Add a generous portion of caramelized onions and a handful of mixed greens. Spread ketchup and mustard on the top half of the bun and place it on top to close the burger.
