Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Calabrian chili paste, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.

Add the Tomatoes
Stir in the crushed canned tomatoes, chopped fresh basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Combine with Meatballs
Once the meatballs are baked, gently place them into the sauce. Let them simmer together for another 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Serve the meatballs hot, topped with additional grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
