Place the Kronenbourg Blanc 1664 in the refrigerator for at least 90 minutes prior to serving (or 30 minutes in an ice bath) so it is well chilled but not frozen. Optionally place the glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes or fill it with ice water for 2–3 minutes then discard the ice water just before pouring.

Chill beer and glass

Hold the chilled glass at a slight angle (about 45 degrees). Open the beer and pour gently down the side of the glass to about two-thirds full to minimize excessive foam.

When the glass is about two-thirds full, gradually tilt it upright and continue pouring into the center of the glass to create a 1–1.5 inch (2.5–4 cm) frothy head typical of wheat beers.

Let the beer settle for a few seconds. For a classic presentation, garnish with an orange slice on the rim. If you prefer a brighter citrus aroma, add a thin lemon twist over the glass and drop it in. For a fresh herbal note, lightly slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and place it on the rim or float gently on the head.

Serve immediately while cold. Advise drinker to enjoy the beer by smelling the citrus and spice aromas first, then taking moderate sips to appreciate the light wheat body and subtle coriander/orange blossom notes characteristic of Kronenbourg Blanc 1664.

If not finishing the bottle, reseal if possible, keep it chilled and consume within 24 hours for best carbonation and flavor. Wash the glass with warm water and mild detergent after use; avoid heavily scented soaps which can leave residue that affects beer aroma.
