House Fries Ingredients

Method

House Fries Directions

1

Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin fries and soak in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

2

Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and malt vinegar powder. Whisk together until well mixed.

3

Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

4

Batter the Fries

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a paper towel. Dip each fry into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated.

5

Fry the Fries

Carefully place the battered fries into the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

6

Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While they are still hot, sprinkle with additional salt, malt vinegar powder, parsley, and chives.

7

Serve

Serve the house fries hot as a delicious side dish or snack.
