Taco Fillings

1

Prepare the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture over the flank steak. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

2

Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated flank steak for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing them into thin strips.

3

Warm the Tortillas

On the same grill or skillet, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until they are soft and pliable.

4

Assemble the Tacos

Place the sliced steak on the warm tortillas, top with fresh cilantro, and squeeze lime juice over the top.

Rice

5

Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the rice and salt, stir, and reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water has been absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Beans

6

Prepare the Beans

In a small saucepan, add the canned black beans (drained and rinsed), cumin, garlic powder, and salt. Heat over medium heat until warmed through, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
