Optional (for variation)

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Rim the glass

Run a lime wedge around the outer rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Spread the coarse salt on a small plate and dip the rim lightly to coat. Set the glass aside.

2

If you prefer no salt, skip this step and chill the glass instead.

Build & Shake

3

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 6 large ice cubes, 3 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz Cointreau, 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 large lime), and 0.5 oz agave syrup.

4

Shake

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is frosty and the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.

Strain & Finish

5

Strain

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over 1–2 fresh large ice cubes (or serve neat in a chilled coupe if preferred). Use a fine mesh strainer in addition to the shaker strainer to remove any small ice shards or pulp.

6

Optional float

For a deeper, more complex top-shelf profile, gently float 0.25 oz reposado tequila on top by pouring it over the back of a spoon.

7

Garnish

Express an orange twist over the drink if using, rub it on the rim, then discard or drop it in. Add a lime wheel or wedge on the rim or in the glass.

Serve

8

Serve immediately. Recommend sipping slowly to appreciate the high-quality tequila and balanced citrus-sweet profile.
