Method
Prepare Glass (optional)
Rim the glass
If you like a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the outer edge of a chilled rocks or coupe glass, then dip the rim lightly into coarse salt so it adheres. Tap off any excess.
Alternatively, skip the salt to keep the drink even leaner and lower-sodium.
Mix Cocktail
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice (about 1 cup).
Pour 1.5 oz Don Julio Silver tequila and 0.5 oz Cointreau into the shaker.
Add 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lime juice (about the juice of half a lime) and 0.25 oz agave nectar. For a very low-calorie version, use the smallest effective 0.25 oz; taste and adjust.
Optional: add 0.5 oz cold water if you prefer a slightly longer, less spirit-forward cocktail.
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the shaker is chilled and slightly frosted.
Serve
If using a rocks glass with ice: fill the glass with fresh ice and strain the cocktail over the ice. If using a coupe or martini-style glass: double-strain into the chilled glass to remove small ice chips.
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim.
Serve immediately.
