Method
Cocktail
Prepare glass
Chill a coupe or rocks glass by filling it with ice water while you mix the cocktail, or place it in the freezer for 5–10 minutes.
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Jose Cuervo Tradicional tequila, 0.75 oz Grand Marnier, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz fresh orange juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup if you prefer a slightly sweeter drink.
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 3/4 full or roughly 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the shaker is cold to the touch and well chilled.
Strain and serve
Dump the ice water from your chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or into a rocks glass over fresh ice, depending on preference.
Garnish
Finish with an orange wheel or a long orange twist and a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Optionally express the orange peel over the drink to release oils before dropping it in.
Serve immediately and enjoy. Adjust sweetness by adding a little more simple syrup to taste or reducing the lime juice if you prefer a milder tartness.
