Preparation

1

Prepare glass

If you prefer a salted or sugared rim, rub a lime wedge around the outer rim of a rocks or margarita glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt or sugar placed on a small plate to coat. Set the glass aside and chill briefly if desired.

2

Measure ingredients

Measure 2 oz El Jimador Reposado tequila, 0.5 oz Grand Marnier, 0.5 oz blue curaçao, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Seal and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and the outside is frosty. This chills and dilutes the cocktail to balance flavors.

4

Strain and serve

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice (or serve neat if preferred). The drink will have a bright blue tint from the curaçao balanced by the orange depth of Grand Marnier and the character of El Jimador.

5

Garnish

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Optionally grate a small amount of lime zest over the top for an aromatic finish.
