Marinade

Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over the steak. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Grill or sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  2. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 5

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Tacos

On each tortilla, layer the sliced steak, chopped cilantro, diced red onion, and sliced avocado. Top with a dollop of sour cream and serve with lime wedges on the side.
