Method

Prepare the Ice Cream Balls

  1. 1

    Scoop and Freeze

Using an ice cream scoop, form 8 equal balls of vanilla ice cream. Place them on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until solid.

Prepare the Breading

  1. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the cornflakes, coconut flakes, ground cinnamon, and sugar. Crush the cornflakes slightly to create a finer texture.

Prepare the Egg Mixture

  1. 3

    Whisk Eggs and Milk

In a separate dish, whisk together the eggs and milk until fully combined.

Coat the Ice Cream Balls

  1. 4

    Bread the Ice Cream

Remove the ice cream balls from the freezer. Dip each ball into the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated. Then roll it in the breading mixture until completely covered. Repeat for all ice cream balls.

Fry the Ice Cream

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry the Ice Cream

Carefully place one ice cream ball into the hot oil and fry for about 10-15 seconds, or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining ice cream balls.

Serve

  1. 7

    Garnish and Enjoy

Place the fried ice cream balls on a serving plate. Drizzle with chocolate sauce, add whipped cream, and top with cherries. Serve immediately.
