Preparation of Fresh Vegetables

  1. 1

Wash and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Place in a serving bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare Tomatoes

Dice the tomatoes and add them to the bowl with lettuce.

  3. 3

    Prepare Pico de Gallo

If using store-bought Pico de Gallo, measure out 1 cup. If homemade, combine diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro, lime juice, and salt to taste.

Dairy

  1. 4

    Add Sour Cream

Spoon 1 cup of sour cream into a small bowl for serving.

Pickled Items

  1. 5

    Prepare Pickled Cabbage

Measure out 1 cup of pickled cabbage and add it to the serving platter.

  2. 6

    Prepare Pickled Jalapeños

Add pickled jalapeños to taste, either whole or sliced, to the serving platter.

Spicy Additions

  1. 7

    Prepare Jalapeños

Wash the jalapeños, remove the stems, and leave them whole or slice them as desired.

Sautéed Vegetables

  1. 8

    Sauté Onions

In a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and sauté sliced onions until they are translucent and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 9

    Sauté Peppers

In the same skillet, add sliced peppers and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes. Combine with the onions.
