Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation of the Base

1

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk together until evenly mixed.

2

Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and melted butter until smooth.

3

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Cooking

4

Preheat the Cooking Surface

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can lightly grease it with butter if desired.

5

Cook the Base

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Serving

6

Assemble the Dish

Stack the pancakes on a plate and top with cheese, crumbled bacon, sour cream, and chopped chives.

7

Enjoy

Serve warm and enjoy your delicious food truck-inspired pancakes!
