Goulash Ingredients
Method
Goulash Preparation
Sear the Beef
In a large pot over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil. Add the beef cubes and sear until browned on all sides. Remove the beef and set aside.
Spice it Up
Stir in the sweet paprika, caraway seeds, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another minute until fragrant.
Simmer
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
Prepare Spätzle
Prepare house spätzle according to your chosen recipe or package instructions while the goulash simmers.
Serve
Once the goulash is thick and the beef is tender, serve hot over spätzle, garnished with fried onions and fresh vegetables.
