Preparation

Pizza Dough Preparation

1. Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

2. Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

3. Knead Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.

Topping Preparation

1. Caramelize Onions

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized (about 15-20 minutes).

2. Sauté Kale and Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil, then add the chopped kale and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and black pepper.

Pizza Assembly

1. Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

2. Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.

3. Add Toppings

Spread the caramelized onions over the dough, followed by the kale and mushroom mixture. Top with vegan cheese.

4. Bake Pizza

Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted.
