Petite Filet Mignon Ingredients

Method

Petite Filet Mignon Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preparation

Take the petite filet mignon out of the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Seasoning

In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped fresh rosemary. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the filet mignon, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Searing

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the filet mignon in the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms.

  4. 4

    Flipping and Adding Butter

Flip the filet mignon over using tongs. Add the butter to the skillet. Continue to cook for another 4-5 minutes, basting the steak with the melted butter using a spoon.

  5. 5

    Checking Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 130-135°F (54-57°C). Adjust cooking time as necessary based on your desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Resting

Once cooked to your liking, remove the filet mignon from the skillet and place it on a cutting board. Cover loosely with foil and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing.

  7. 7

    Serving

After resting, slice the petite filet mignon and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious, perfectly cooked steak!
