Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Blueberry Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh blueberries and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the blueberries to soften and release their juices.

  2. 2

    Strain the Mixture

After simmering, remove the saucepan from heat and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing down with a spatula to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.

  3. 3

Mix in Sugar and Lemon Juice

Return the strained blueberry juice to the saucepan. Add the sugar and lemon juice, and stir over low heat until the sugar has completely dissolved, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Chill the Mixture

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature. Once cooled, transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes.

  5. 5

    Serve the Blueberry Lemon Sour

To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled blueberry mixture over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a pinch of salt for added flavor.
