Tea Sachets & Water

Method

Brew Hot Tea

1

Boil water

Bring 12 oz (about 350 ml) of fresh cold water to a rolling boil in a kettle or on the stovetop. For green or delicate teas, heat water to just under boiling (about 175–185°F / 80–85°C) instead.

2

Steep tea bags

Place 2 packaged tea bags in a mug or teapot. Pour the hot water over the tea bags. Let steep: 3–5 minutes for black tea, 2–3 minutes for green tea, or follow the package instructions for herbal blends. Avoid oversteeping to prevent bitterness.

3

Remove tea bags

Lift out the tea bags and gently squeeze against the side of the mug with a spoon if you want a slightly stronger brew. Discard the used tea bags.

4

Add optional ingredients

Stir in sweetener to taste (start with 1 tsp) while the tea is hot so it dissolves easily. Add 2 tbsp milk or creamer if you prefer creamy tea, or squeeze a lemon wedge for a bright citrus note. Stir to combine.

5

Serve

Serve hot. If preparing iced tea, allow brewed tea to cool slightly before pouring over ice.

Make Iced Tea (Optional)

6

Brew the tea using the same proportions but use double strength (4 tea bags per 12 oz) if you want to account for dilution from ice, or brew normally and chill. Let tea cool to room temperature, then pour over 1 cup of ice in a glass. Add sweetener while warm if using so it dissolves, then add lemon or serve plain.
