Coffee base

Milk & creamy components

Method

Coffee base

1

Brew

Brew 3 cups of medium-roast coffee using your preferred method (drip, pour-over, or French press) so it’s hot and freshly made. If you want a stronger Dunkin-style kick, stir in 1 tsp instant espresso powder into the hot coffee until dissolved.

2

Allow the brewed coffee to cool slightly (5–10 minutes) so it doesn’t melt the ice immediately if you’re making an iced version. For iced coffee, you can speed-cool the coffee by pouring it into a shallow pan and placing it in the fridge for 10–15 minutes or into an ice bath.

Milk & creamy components

3

In a jug, combine 1 cup whole milk and 1/2 cup half-and-half (or heavy cream if you prefer richer). Add 1 tsp vanilla extract and stir to combine.

4

If you prefer your milk frothed (hot or iced latte style), heat the milk mixture gently to 140–150°F (60–65°C) and froth with a handheld frother or steam wand until smooth and velvety. For iced drinks, simply shake the milk mixture in a sealed jar for 30–45 seconds to create light froth.

Sweeteners & flavoring

5

Add 3 tablespoons simple syrup to the warm coffee and stir to dissolve. If you prefer richer caramel notes, add 1 tablespoon light brown sugar as well and stir until fully dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness: add more syrup 1 tbsp at a time if desired.

6

For flavored variations: stir in an extra 1/2 tsp vanilla or 1–2 tbs caramel sauce to the coffee while warm to incorporate the flavor evenly.

Ice & finishing

7

For iced Dunkin-style coffee: fill two large glasses with ice (about 1 cup each). Divide the sweetened coffee between the glasses.

8

Pour the milk mixture over the coffee in each glass, leaving about 1/2 inch at the top for whipped cream if using. Give a gentle stir to combine.

9

Top each drink with a dollop (about 1/4 cup) of whipped cream if desired, then drizzle 1 teaspoon of caramel sauce or chocolate over the top. Sprinkle a light pinch of ground cinnamon (about 1/8–1/4 tsp divided) as garnish.

10

For hot Dunkin-style coffee: skip the ice. After adding sweetener to the hot coffee, stir in the milk mixture (warmed and frothed if desired). Top with whipped cream and drizzle as above.
