Cocktail

Homemade Sour Mix (makes more than needed)

Method

Homemade Sour Mix

1

Make sour mix (can be prepared ahead)

Combine 0.5 cup fresh lemon juice, 0.5 cup fresh lime juice and 0.75 cup simple syrup in a jar. Stir or shake until fully mixed. Chill in refrigerator up to 1 week. Use 0.75 oz of this mix per margarita.

Prepare Glass

2

Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass. Spread the coarse salt on a small plate and dip the wet rim into the salt to coat. Fill the glass with large ice cubes and set aside.

Build & Shake

3

In a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, add 2 oz Dobel Diamante Cristalino tequila, 1 oz Cointreau, 0.75 oz homemade sour mix, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.25 oz simple syrup if you prefer slightly sweeter balance.

4

Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.

Finish & Serve

5

Double-strain the mixture over the prepared rocks glass filled with fresh ice (to avoid over-dilution from the shaker ice).

6

Squeeze a fresh lime wedge over the cocktail to add a bright burst of citrus, drop the wedge into the glass as garnish.

7

Serve immediately with a short straw or stirrer. Optional: provide an extra lime wedge on the side.
