Prep & Rim
Prepare sugared rim
Place the 1 tbsp granulated sugar on a small plate. Run the lemon wedge around the outside rim of a chilled coupe or martini glass until the rim is evenly moistened. Dip the moistened rim into the sugar, turning to coat fully. Set the glass aside to let the sugar set while you mix the drink.
Muddle & Shake
Muddle blueberries
In a cocktail shaker, add the 10 fresh Oregon blueberries and 0.5 oz simple syrup. Using a sturdy muddler, press and twist the berries until they are thoroughly crushed and have released their juice and color (about 20–30 seconds).
Add spirits and citrus
To the muddled blueberries in the shaker add 2 oz blueberry vodka, 1 oz fresh lemon juice, and 2 oz chilled lemonade. Fill the shaker with cracked ice (about 1 cup).
Shake vigorously
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds — the shaker should become very cold and slightly frosty. This chills the mixture and helps incorporate the blueberry solids.
Strain & Finish
Double-strain the shaken cocktail through a fine-mesh strainer (or Hawthorne plus fine strainer) into the prepared sugared-rim glass to remove blueberry skins and seeds while preserving color and flavor.
Garnish by skewering 4–6 fresh blueberries on a cocktail pick and resting it across the rim, then add a lemon twist over the drink, expressing oils over the surface. If desired, float the last 2–3 blueberries in the drink for visual appeal.
