Confirm dine-in
Seat the guests and verify the party is dining in; this offer applies to dine-in service only.
Check adult purchases
At ordering or when presenting the check, total the adult food and beverage purchases (before tax and tip). For each $12 of adult purchases, the party is eligible to receive one free kid's meal. Round down to the nearest whole number of free kid's meals (do not combine partial amounts).
Apply limit
Ensure only one free child's meal is provided per qualifying adult and only one child is assigned to each qualifying adult. Do not provide more free kid's meals than adults meeting the $12-per-meal requirement.
Verify restrictions
Confirm the promotion is not being combined with other offers that would invalidate eligibility (follow restaurant policy). If restaurant policy disallows combining, inform the guest and offer alternatives.
Process order
When entering the free kid's meal into the POS, select the promotional item code or apply the 'Kids Eat Free' discount line so the kid's meal price is reduced to $0.00. If there is no promo code, manually discount the kid's meal to zero and note the reason on the check.
Deliver meal
Prepare and serve the kid's meal as usual (one kid entrée, one side, one drink). Ensure the child’s meal is clearly marked on the ticket as complimentary and served per standard portioning.
Finalize check
Finalize payment for the adult purchases only. Record the complimentary kid's meal(s) in end-of-day reporting as required by management for reconciliation and promotion tracking.
Staff Notes and Examples
Example: If a table has three adults whose combined qualifying adult purchase totals are $40 (pre-tax), divide $40 by $12 = 3.333; round down to 3 free kid's meals allowed. Verify there are at most three children and one qualifying adult per child before issuing complimentary meals.
If the check is split and an individual adult wants to redeem a free kid's meal, that adult's personal qualifying purchases must meet the $12 minimum to receive one complimentary kid's meal on their portion of the check (follow POS splitting procedure).
If a guest orders a premium kid's entrée that normally costs more than the standard kid's meal, apply the complimentary benefit up to the standard kid's meal price; charge the guest for any overage, unless management authorizes full comp.
