Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Steak

Remove the filet mignon from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

2

Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil all over the steak and season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

3

Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over medium-high heat until hot.

4

Sear the Steak

Add the filet mignon to the hot skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on one side until a crust forms.

5

Flip and Add Butter

Flip the steak and add the butter and fresh rosemary to the pan. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, basting the steak with the melted butter.

6

Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. For medium-rare, the internal temperature should be 130°F (54°C).

7

Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute.

8

Serve

Slice the filet mignon and serve with your choice of sides.
