Build and shake
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice (about 1 cup). Add vodka, melon liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 8–12 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and ingredients are well combined and slightly diluted.
Garnish
Garnish with a lemon wheel or twist on the rim and a maraschino cherry dropped into the drink or skewered on a pick.
