Cocktail

Method

Prep (optional cinnamon rim)

1

Cinnamon rim (optional)

If you want a spiced rim, rub a lemon wedge around the glass lip, then dip the rim into a small plate with ground cinnamon (or a mix of cinnamon and a little sugar). Set the glass aside to let the rim set while you build the cocktail.

Mixing and Serving

2

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about 3/4 full).

3

Add 2 oz vodka, 0.75 oz gingerbread syrup, and 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice to the shaker.

4

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and well chilled.

5

Fill a highball or rocks glass with fresh ice (if using the cinnamon-rimmed glass, be careful not to disturb the rim). Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass.

6

Top the drink with about 2 oz ginger beer to add effervescence and extra ginger character. Stir gently once to combine.

7

Garnish with a piece of candied ginger on a pick and a lemon wheel on the rim (or float the lemon wheel).

8

Serve immediately.
