Method
Prep
Juice lemons
If not using pre-squeezed juice, roll a lemon firmly on the counter to release juices and then measure 0.75 oz of fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon).
Mixing the Cocktail
Combine gin, lemon, agave
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Malfy Blood Orange Gin, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.5 oz agave nectar and 6 pieces of ice.
Shake
Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is very cold and slightly frosted—this chills and properly dilutes the base while aerating it for texture.
Finish & Garnish
Top with cava
Gently pour 2 oz chilled Segura Viudas Brut Cava down the inside of the glass to preserve bubbles and create a layered effervescence. Pour slowly to avoid overflow.
Adjust sweetness (optional)
Taste quickly — if you prefer a sweeter profile, add a few drops (or up to 0.25 oz) of additional agave nectar, stir gently once with a bar spoon to integrate without flattening the bubbles.
Garnish
Float a blood orange wheel on top or clip a blood orange wheel to the rim and add a lemon twist for bright aromatics. Serve immediately while the cava is fizzy.
