Vodka Infusion

Martini Preparation

Method

Vodka Infusion

1

Prepare the Horseradish

Peel and finely grate the fresh horseradish root using a grater or food processor.

2

Infuse the Vodka

In a clean glass jar, combine the grated horseradish with the vodka. Seal the jar tightly and shake gently to mix.

3

Let it Sit

Allow the mixture to infuse for at least 24 hours at room temperature. For a stronger flavor, let it infuse for up to 3 days, shaking the jar gently every day.

4

Strain the Mixture

After the infusion period, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean bottle to remove the horseradish solids.

Martini Preparation

5

Prepare the Glass

Chill a martini glass by filling it with ice water and letting it sit while you prepare the drink.

6

Mix the Martini

In a cocktail shaker, add the horseradish-infused vodka, dry vermouth, and ice cubes. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

7

Serve the Martini

Empty the ice water from the chilled martini glass. Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass.

8

Garnish

Add a lemon twist and an olive or pickle as garnish before serving.
