Method
Prepare Glass
- 1
Optional salted rim
If desired, rub the lime wedge around the rim of a pint glass and dip the rim into coarse salt to coat lightly. This step is optional — you can also serve without salt.
- 2
Fill the prepared pint glass about three-quarters full with large ice cubes (approximately 1 cup). Large cubes melt slower and keep dilution controlled.
Build Cocktail
- 3
In a mixing glass or shaker (no need to shake with beer), add the vodka, fresh lime juice (about 1/2 oz), and simple syrup (1/4 oz). Stir briefly to combine.
- 4
Pour the vodka-lime mixture over the ice in the prepared pint glass.
- 5
Slowly top with 12 oz Bud Light (or other light lager) poured down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation. Pour gently to avoid excessive foam.
- 6
Give the drink one gentle stir with a bar spoon (1–2 revolutions) to integrate the beer and spirits without flattening the beer.
Garnish & Serve
- 7
Express the remaining lime wedge over the drink by pinching it with the peel side down toward the surface to release oils, then drop the wedge into the glass or place on the rim.
