Method
Prep
Prepare fruit
Wash all fruit thoroughly. Peel and segment the oranges and grapefruit, removing as much of the white pith and membrane as possible to avoid bitterness. Core the apple and chop into pieces; peel if you prefer a smoother flavor. Remove crown and core from the pineapple, then chop into chunks suitable for your juicer or blender.
Juicing / Blending
Using a juicer
Feed the orange segments, pineapple chunks, grapefruit segments and apple pieces through a centrifugal or masticating juicer in batches. Collect the fresh juice in a pitcher. Stop and scrape or strain any larger fibers if necessary. Stir in the cranberry juice and taste. If the mixture is too strong or thick, add up to 1/4 cup cold water to reach desired consistency. Add honey or agave if additional sweetness is needed. Chill or pour over ice before serving.
Using a blender (if no juicer)
Place the orange segments, pineapple chunks, grapefruit segments and apple pieces in a high-speed blender with 1/4 cup cold water and 6 ice cubes (optional). Blend on high until very smooth (about 30–60 seconds). Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag over a bowl or pitcher, pressing or squeezing to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard or reserve pulp for another use. Stir in the cranberry juice and taste; add honey/agave if desired. Serve chilled or over ice.
Finish & Serve
Stir the juice well, pour into two glasses, add additional ice if desired, garnish with a thin slice of orange or pineapple if you like, and serve immediately for best freshness.
