Preparation
Chill and measure
Chill the glass in the fridge for a few minutes if desired. Measure out syrup and keep carbonated water cold. Fill a serving glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes (approximately 1 cup).
Add syrup
Pour 2 tablespoons of the fountain syrup over the ice. If you prefer a stronger or weaker drink, adjust syrup between 1 to 3 tablespoons to taste.
Add juice (optional)
If using, add 1 teaspoon fresh lemon or lime juice to brighten the flavor. This is optional and depends on the syrup flavor and your preference.
Top with carbonated water
Slowly pour 1 cup of cold club soda (or plain carbonated water) down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and reduce foaming. Pour until the glass is nearly full, leaving room for garnish.
Stir gently
Use a long spoon or straw to gently stir the drink 2–3 times to combine syrup and carbonated water without flattening the bubbles.
Garnish and serve
Garnish with a lemon or lime wheel, an orange slice, or a maraschino cherry if desired. Serve immediately with a straw.
