Build the drink
Fill a rocks (old-fashioned) glass about three-quarters full with large ice cubes. Pour 1 oz Campari and 1 oz sweet vermouth over the ice.
Garnish and serve
Express the oils of an orange peel over the surface by holding the peel skin-side down and giving it a firm twist, then rub the peel around the rim and drop it into the glass (or rest a thin orange slice on the rim). Serve immediately.
