Hamburger Steak

Onion Gravy

Method

Hamburger Steak Preparation

1

Prepare the Meat Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.

2

Stuff the Hamburger Steaks

Divide the meat mixture into four equal parts. Flatten each part in your hand and place a tablespoon of shredded cheese in the center. Fold the meat around the cheese and shape it into a patty. Make sure the cheese is completely enclosed.

3

Cook the Hamburger Steaks

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). Remove from skillet and set aside.

Onion Gravy Preparation

4

Sauté the Onions

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and sauté until they are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

5

Make the Gravy

Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir to combine. Slowly add the beef broth while stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Add soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens, about 3-4 minutes.

6

Serve

Place the cooked hamburger steaks on a plate and generously pour the onion gravy over the top. Serve immediately.
