Mojito Cocktail
Optional: Fruit Variations
Method
Mojito Cocktail
Prepare glass and mint
Place 10 fresh mint leaves in a sturdy highball or Collins glass. Add 0.75 oz fresh lime juice and 0.75 oz simple syrup to the glass.
Muddle gently
Using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, gently press and twist the mint leaves with the lime and syrup about 6–8 times. Goal: release the oils and aroma of the mint without shredding the leaves (avoid over-muddling to prevent bitterness).
Garnish and serve
Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel and a fresh mint sprig. Optionally slap the mint sprig between your palms once and tuck it into the drink to enhance aroma. Serve with a straw and enjoy.
Optional: Fruit Variation
If making a fruit mojito (raspberry, strawberry or pineapple), add the fruit pieces to the glass with the mint, lime juice and simple syrup in the first step. Muddle the fruit together with the mint gently until fruit releases color and juices (about 6–8 muddles). Proceed with the rest of the recipe as written.
