Rim & Garnish

Method

Rim & Garnish

1

Prepare glass

Run a lime wedge around the rim of a 16–20 oz pint glass. Spread the coarse sea salt or Tajín on a small plate and dip the rim into it so the salt adheres evenly. Set the glass aside.

2

Reserve a lime wedge and a lime wheel for garnish.

Mix

3

Build the michelada base

In a separate mixing glass or shaker, combine fresh lime juice, Zing Zang, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, soy sauce (if using), and freshly ground black pepper. Stir or gently roll to combine — do not vigorously shake if ice is present, to avoid diluting too much.

4

Adjust to taste

Taste the mix and adjust seasoning as desired: add more lime for brightness, more Zing Zang for tomato/clam flavor, or more hot sauce for heat.

Assemble

5

Combine with beer

If using ice, add 3–4 ice cubes to the prepared glass. Pour the prepared mix into the glass, leaving room for beer (about one-third of the glass). Slowly pour the cold Modelo Especial down the side of the glass to minimize foaming, topping off gently until the glass is full.

6

Give the drink a gentle stir once or twice with a bar spoon to integrate, taking care not to over-stir and flatten the beer.

7

Garnish with the reserved lime wedge and optional lime wheel on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw if desired.
