Preparation

1

Chill glass

If desired, chill a rocks glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you build the cocktail.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 1.5 oz Teremana Reposado Tequila, 0.5 oz Myers's Dark Rum, 0.5 oz Aperol, 2 oz fresh pineapple juice, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.25 oz agave syrup (optional for extra sweetness), and 2 dashes Angostura bitters.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (enough to come about 3/4 of the way up), secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold to the touch and the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.

4

Prepare glass

Discard the ice water from the chilled rocks glass if used. Add one large ice rock or a few fresh ice cubes to the glass.

5

Strain

Double-strain the shaken cocktail into the prepared rocks glass over the large ice (use a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer if available) to remove small ice shards and pineapple pulp for a cleaner presentation.

6

Finish & garnish

Express a lime wheel over the drink by gently squeezing it to release oils, then drop the wheel onto the rim. Add a pineapple wedge or leaf on the rim or skewer it and rest it on the glass. Optionally, float a light sprinkle of grated lime zest or a tiny dash more Angostura bitters on top for aroma.

7

Serve

Serve immediately while cold. Recommend sipping slowly to enjoy the layered flavors: reposado tequila backbone, richness from dark rum, bittersweet Aperol, and bright pineapple-lime notes.
