Method
Cocktail
Prepare shaker
Fill a cocktail shaker with about 1 cup of fresh ice to chill and properly dilute the cocktail.
Combine ingredients
Add coconut rum (1.5 oz), dark rum (0.75 oz), pineapple juice (2 oz), passion fruit liqueur (0.75 oz), banana liqueur (0.5 oz), and fresh lime juice (0.5 oz) to the shaker. If you prefer a slightly sweeter drink, add 0.25 oz simple syrup.
Shake
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is well chilled and the drink is properly diluted.
Strain & serve
Double-strain the mixture into a chilled Collins glass or tiki mug filled with fresh ice. Use a Hawthorne or fine mesh strainer to catch any small ice shards or pulp.
Garnish & Finish
Skewer a pineapple wedge and a lime wheel on a cocktail pick and rest it on the glass rim. Lightly sprinkle the top of the drink with a pinch (about 1 tsp) of toasted coconut flakes if using, or float a small pineapple leaf for visual appeal.
Serve immediately with a straw. Encourage the drinker to stir briefly if the garnish has layered flavors before sipping.
