Coconut-Pineapple Base

Alcohol & Boosters (optional)

Method

Coconut-Pineapple Base

1

Blend fruit and creams

Add the canned pineapple chunks with their juice, unsweetened coconut milk, and coconut cream to a high-powered blender. Add the fresh lime juice and granulated sugar (or simple syrup) to balance acidity and sweetness.

2

Purée until smooth

Blend on high for 30–60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and slightly frothy. Stop and scrape down the sides once if necessary to ensure even texture.

Alcohol & Boosters (optional)

3

Add spirits and flavor

With the blender running on low, stream in the white rum and vanilla extract (if using) and blend 10–15 seconds more until incorporated. Taste and adjust sweetness or lime if needed. If making a 0% version, omit the rums and add an extra tablespoon of coconut cream for body.

Ice & Serve

4

Add ice and chill

Add the ice cubes to the blender and pulse 6–10 times (or blend 10–15 seconds) until you reach a creamy, slushy consistency. Avoid overblending to prevent dilution.

5

Prepare glass and garnish

If desired, wet the rim of a chilled hurricane or tall glass with a little lime and dip in toasted coconut flakes. Pour the blended No-Hafta Colada into the prepared glass.

6

Finish and serve

Garnish with a pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry. For the classic layered look, carefully float the dark rum on top by pouring it over the back of a spoon. Serve immediately with a straw.
