Preparation

Wine Bottle

1. Inspect and Chill

Check the bottle for any damage and confirm the vintage and producer (Prima Alta Pinot Grigio 2023, Veneto). If the bottle is not already chilled, place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or in an ice bucket filled with ice and cold water for 20–30 minutes until it reaches 45–50°F (7–10°C).

2. Open the Bottle

Use a waiter’s corkscrew or wing corkscrew. Cut and remove the foil capsule from the top of the bottle. Center the corkscrew on the cork, insert the worm straight down, and twist until the worm is almost fully in. Pull the cork out smoothly to avoid agitation. If it's a screw-cap, simply twist the cap off.

3. Briefly Aerate (optional)

Pinot Grigio is typically enjoyed without extended decanting. If desired, pour a small amount (about 2–3 ounces / 60–90 ml) into a glass, swirl gently for 10–15 seconds to open the aromatics, and taste. This brief exposure to air can soften any tightness and reveal fruit and floral notes.

Serving (optional)

4. Prepare Glassware

If using chilled glassware, remove from the fridge or ice briefly. Warm hands should be avoided on the bowl of the glass; hold by the stem. Pour about 5–6 ounces (150–180 ml) of wine per glass to allow room for aromas.

5. Garnish and Presentation

If you prefer a light visual garnish, float a thin slice of green apple or lemon on the rim or place it beside the glass. Serve immediately. If any wine remains, re-cork the bottle with the original cork or a stopper and store upright in the refrigerator; consume within 1–3 days for best freshness.

6. Pairing Suggestions

Serve Prima Alta Pinot Grigio chilled alongside light seafood (grilled shrimp, oysters), fresh salads, soft cheeses (goat cheese, mozzarella), or simple pasta with olive oil and lemon. Its crisp acidity and subtle fruit notes complement light, fresh dishes.
