Preparation Instructions
- 1
Cook the Meat
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and stir in the house-made marinara sauce. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Ricotta Mixture
In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, fresh basil (chopped), salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well until fully combined.
- 3
Cook the Lasagna Noodles
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 4
Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of the meat sauce on the bottom. Place 4 lasagna noodles on top, followed by a layer of the ricotta mixture, and a layer of Alfredo sauce. Repeat the layers twice more, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and a generous sprinkle of American Grana Parmesan cheese on top.
- 5
Bake the Lasagna
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- 6
Let it Rest
Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with additional fresh basil if desired.
