Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, set up your breading station. Place the flour in the first dish, beaten eggs in the second, and breadcrumbs in the third.
Breading and Cooking
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.
Assembly and Baking
- 5
Add Toppings
Spoon marinara sauce evenly over the fried chicken breasts. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- 6
Bake
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
If desired, sprinkle fresh basil on top before serving. Serve hot with pasta or a side salad.
